FAQs
What happens during the medical visit?
You will meet with your provider during the schedule time on a video call. You will have as much time as you need to ask any questions you have. Your medical provider will ask you questions about your current weight, your medical history, your family’s medical history, and what your goals are.
What if I have questions after my appointment?
You are able to reach out to medical providers or the filling pharmacy for questions at any time. You will be given instructions on how to reach them.
What medications are available?
GLP-1 medications that are available are either semaglutide or tirzepatide. Your medical provider may also recommend prescription nausea medication. Everything you need is included in your monthly payment.
How often will I get shipments?
We work with pharmacies that use the most stringent processes for compounding medications. Due to the sterile compounding rules, we can only ship 1 month at a time. You will automatically receive your monthly shipment of medication according to your provider’s prescription after your visits.
Is this real medication?
Yes. Sterile compounding pharmacies are using the exact ingredients that are available in the commercial products. Due to the shortage from the original manufacturers, the FDA allows compounding pharmacies to compound these medications. Compounded medications are NOT generic forms. They are compounded medications and are not associated with any of the brand name companies.
What if I want to change my dose?
Most weight loss medications, and especially GLP-1 prescriptions, have a structured dosing plan. You can speak with your provider if you are interested in changing that plan.
How long will I need to be on medication for weight loss?
This answer will be different for each patient. Some patients have very little weight to lose and may only need medication for 1-2 months. While other patients have a goal to lose over 100 pounds and may need to be on medication for a year or more. Generally, if you have less than 25 pounds to lose, you can expect about 3 months. If you want to lose about 40-50 pounds, you can expect about 6 months. If you want to lose more, then expect longer treatment times.
I am scared of regaining the weight after I lose it. What can I do?
Some patients, especially those that have struggled longterm with weight issues, will go on a low maintenance dose instead of just abruptly stopping medication. This can help you maintain your weight loss while slowly decreasing your dose.
Do I have to take any additional supplements?
No. Additional supplements are not required. However, we have found many of our patients to enjoy the benefits of supplements – boosting metabolism and increasing energy.
